In an important development for the greater Portland area, we are excited to announce the fall 2018 launch of an innovative hybrid online undergraduate Business Administration degree option.

Beginning next fall term, this first-of-its-kind program in the state will give business students the flexibility of blending online courses with the added value of face-to-face professional development and industry engagement opportunities in Portland.

“As we continue to deliver vibrant, cutting-edge and forward thinking programming for our undergraduate students here in Austin Hall in Corvallis, we are committed to providing access to an excellent business education for students outside of Corvallis, too,” said Dean Mitzi Montoya.

Portland-area students who prefer to live and learn in the city can continue to have convenient access to OSU business degrees through our online arm Ecampus, and now they will be able to participate in face-to-face sessions to build connections and community with faculty, fellow students, alumni and the college’s growing network of corporate partners and Portland-area businesses.

“Advising, tutoring, professional and leadership skills development classes, guest speaker series, mentoring, networking, career fairs, corporate site visits – essentially, we will offer the same value proposition that attracts more and more of the best students to Corvallis to our online students, said Bridget Jones, the associate director of undergraduate recruitment.  “These programs are what makes our college distinctive among business schools.”

Jones explains that the core curriculum of the B.S. in Business Administration degree will be accessed online, but that the learning community can come together for everything from study groups to attendance at some of the College of Business’ signature Portland events.

“We are giving students choices that are convenient to their location and lives. With the new hybrid Portland option, we are providing another pathway for Portland area students to earn a business degree from OSU and join our community,” said Montoya. “OSU invested in Ecampus which allows us to extend state-of-the-art business education curriculum we are delivering in Corvallis for online learners. Since we know that our soft skills and professional development programming is what sets our apart, we are pioneering a new way to serve a major metropolitan area in the state – and that is to be expected from a land grant university and leader in business education.”
